Howdy gang- I've been wanting to start a proper Steely Dan message board for awhile. I love the blue board and facebook groups, but this seems like a better way to promote ongoing discussion on a variety of topics, and a good way to archive as well.
Love or leave her... won't you sign in stranger?
Thanks! Scott (aka Shark)

Hi Scott nice to join your group. I'm Steve from Brisbane, Australia, and as diehard a Dan fan as they come.

Nice job, Shark. Perhaps the registration process can keep some of the trolls at bay--at least a bit
Good luck with this new project.

Why am I receiving an email every time someone posts here? I have notifications off and I have not subscribed to anything. Also, since adding my avatar I not longer can find my settings to see how to stop the email notifications.
If someone can help me, thanks.
NEVER MIND, I found it. I had to click on Edit Profile. Why is the email for a new post to any thread where you have posted on by default? Seems like a bad idea, IMO. Especially if this forum gets any real use.

Yeah I had to go back in and uncheck all of that crap. Also seems a little odd that you need to go back in and edit your profile if you want to use capital letters and spaces in your profile name.

thanks for joining up everyone... sorry about the hassles. I heard good things about proboards so I just went with it. hope it doesn't discourage others.

Hey Scott, Great idea. Look forward to participating. D'oh! Typically quoting is an option on forums and there is a reply button as well. but no biggie, I can live with this. Thanks again.

The Dan discussion needs to commence. There's not much life on the other threads.
